Afraid becoming a Master Gardener means heavy-duty lifting and toting? Nothing is further from the truth. Since our sole purpose is education, most Master Gardener projects involve teaching in some way. There are all kinds of projects – from instructing students at local schools to writing columns for the Daily Journal to propagating plants for the plant sale to maintaining the garden at the Sanctuary Hospice. Occasionally there will be a project that requires getting your hands dirty, but all projects are voluntary . . . and even those are fun! The main benefit of becoming a Master Gardeners is the camaraderie you'll have with fellow gardeners. You'll learn as much as you'll teach. So get involved! If you love gardening, you'll love being a Master Gardener!
